What kind of issues don’t we treat?
In cases of more severe symptoms—such as psychosis, bipolar disorder, addiction problems, personality disorders, complex trauma, or intellectual disability—we are unfortunately unable to provide the appropriate care. In such situations, we advise seeking help within specialised mental health care (Specialistische GGZ – SGGZ).
We believe good treatment starts with a good relationship.
That relationship is the foundation to help reduce your symptoms as effectively as possible. It begins from the moment you contact us. Our assistant will guide you via phone and email as your visit point of contact, through to the intake session with your therapist. Throughout the process, your therapist will take your preferences into account as much as possible. Hopefully, you will feel confident about our approach and will feel a connection with your therapist. In that case, we can start the treatment soon.

Starting treatment
A psychologist’s treatment always begins with a referral from your general practitioner. Your GP is welcome to call us if they’d like to discuss anything. Once you have a referral, we’ll schedule an intake session. In this session, we’ll discuss your symptoms and form a working theory about how they developed and what makes them part of your life. Together, we’ll decide on the focus for the treatment. The total duration of your treatment depends on the severity and complexity of your symptoms.

Insured care
In 2025, we have contracts with the following health insurers. This means your treatment will be fully reimbursed:
- Achmea/Zilveren Kruis (and their labels: FBTO, De Friesland, De christelijke zorgverzekeraar, Ziezo, Interpolis, and Studenten Goed Verzekerd)
- VGZ (and their labels: Bewuzt, IZA, United Consumers, IZZ (via VGZ), Univé, UMC, ZEKUR, Zorgzaam)
- CZ (and their labels: CZdirect, IZZ (via CZ), Just, Nationale Nederlanden, OHRA)
- Menzis (and their labels: Anderzorg, VinkVink)
- a.s.r (and their label: a.s.r. Ik kies zelf)
- DSW (and their labels: Stad Holland, SZVK)
- ONVZ (and their labels: VvAA, ONVZ Bewuste Keuze)
- Zorg en Zekerheid (and their label: AZVZ)
- ENO (and their labels: Salland, Hollandzorg)
- Caresq, EUcare/Aevitae, and Care4life
If you’re insured with a company we don’t have a contract with, your treatment falls under non-contracted care. In that case, how much is reimbursed depends on your insurance policy. Broadly speaking, there are two types of policies: “natura” and “restitution” policies.
With a restitution policy, your insurer usually reimburses 100% of the treatment costs. With a natura policy, the reimbursement typically ranges between 50% and 100%, depending on the insurer.
Feel free to give us a call! We can immediately tell you how much will be reimbursed.

Uninsured Care
Occasionally, it may become clear during the intake phase that there is indeed a need for care, but no diagnosable disorder that qualifies for reimbursement by your health insurer. This might be the case, for example, with an adjustment disorder (such as following a divorce, job loss, or bereavement) or a learning disorder. If this applies to you, you can choose to pay for the treatment yourself. Of course, we will discuss this with you in a timely manner.
Rates 2025
On January 1st, 2022, mental health care in the Netherlands transitioned to the (Zorg Prestatie Model (Care Performance Model). Since then, insurers no longer reimburse per treatment trajectory, but per session. We invoice the sessions on a monthly basis. If we have a contract with your insurer, the invoice is sent directly to them. If we do not have a contract with your insurer, you will receive an invoice from us that you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement.
The rates we use are set by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa). A treatment session typically lasts about 60 minutes.
